Prometheus, the one who stole the fire from the gods to give it to mankind. His action is placed at the very beginning of humanity, it represents the origin of the human existential condition.
As often happens, the idea comes from an involuntary elaboration of the mind following a lived experience, which tries to find the explanation, the solution to what your senses did not know how to cope with in that moment.
Here, it all began with a dinner, a dinner in the dark, where a new world appeared as if by magic, full of pitfalls and unanswered questions. With time, awareness and willingness to find some of these answers, it became stronger and more pressing.
By researching, I was able to approach this world, reading articles, studying people’s behavior and the various methods of communication that they need.
At that moment I was particularly fascinated by one of these methods, the Braille Code. Simple points on the surface, arranged in an orderly and rigid way. I couldn’t immediately understand the meaning, but I knew that was the key to being able to communicate, to being able to create a bivalent language, with no difference between a sighted and a blind person.
Explaining what I had in mind was very complex, because neither I knew the right words nor I understood that world directly or I ever had the opportunity to enter. The stubbornness and looking beyond appearances, made it possible to fill the initial embarrassment that could be created in relating to a different world. Thanks to the help of many people, it was possible to establish a confidential relationship, sincere and genuine, which allowed me to research and develop at best every single thought. Along the way, it emerged that in reality there was no great difference between a sighted and a blind person, a stereotype that still afflicts society today. Surely life will present them with more difficulty in facing some obstacles, however aware that we live in a reality in which we are all pawns of the same board, without any difference.
The goal is to remove the barriers that divide these realities, sighted and blind, to share experiences that many will never be able to perceive, both on one side and on the other, bringing out the message that bad luck is relative, tt just depends from which point of view you want to observe or feel.
Happiness and love lurk in the most disparate places while fear and hatred are always lurking. In today’s society, more listening and more tact would be salvation and rebirth for many of the problems that afflict us.
One of the reasons why the choice fell on the Braille Code is due to the fact that, with the advent of technology and laptops, we are underestimating its importance. In this regard, there have been some studies on this subject (In difesa del Braille, Giancarlo Abba).
Another reason for this choice is the hedonistic character of the code: the user can take pleasure in the interpretation of the code, which with the addition of the new visual synthesis creates a new methodology of interpretation. For the creation of a language that has value for both blind and sighted, we start from the use of the English language, essentially for one reason: the wider diffusion of the latter in the world, to facilitate the transition from the commonly spoken language to the new Braille Code. In fact, English is used in more than seventy countries; this would allow a greater theoretical diffusion. The process of transformation from the classic Braille Code to the New consists in the addition of black ink at each raised point, so as to be able to identify the letters visually. Subsequently, to create a distinguishable symbology, the dots are joined by ink lines based on the proximity they have with each other.
Not all letters undergo a radical transformation in appearance.
This results in a variety of different symbols that allow you to see and grasp its meaning, without having to resort to touch. This allows the content to be transmitted to anyone in a single writing system: LeChrome Braille.
We constantly work to improve ourselves, to make this Utopia one day become a reality. Writing must unite the world, we are part of the same world, of which past culture and history make us teachers. The key to evolution is the unambiguous sharing and understanding of the code and global unification by individual, regardless of their spatial position.
